Install Splice
It runs on your computer, so there's no upload: a 2 GB set of clips is edited in about half a minute. It updates itself, so you only install once.
One-line install
Verifies the download's checksum, sets everything up, and installs ffmpeg if you don't have it.
All downloads
The first release hasn't been published yet. Use the one-line install once it is, or run from source (see the README).
First launch
- Start it: run
splice -open(or open Splice from the Start menu on Windows). Your browser opens to the app. - Mac says it can't verify the developer? That's because the app isn't signed with a paid Apple certificate yet. Right-click the file and choose Open, or run
xattr -d com.apple.quarantine ~/.local/share/splice/splice. The one-line installer does this for you. - Windows SmartScreen: choose More info → Run anyway.
- Your data: projects and footage stay on this computer. Nothing is uploaded unless you connect an AI key, and then only small preview frames are sent.
Or install the web app
If you already run Splice, your browser can add it as its own window.
